Lt Col Byron R. BoneLieutenant Colonel Byron R. Bone is Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 645, The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. He recruits, trains, motivates, and counsels highly qualified young men and women as prospective Air Force Officers. He promotes Air Force career opportunities to university and high school students, faculty, parents and Administrators. He also instructs college courses on the history, doctrine and operation of the U.S. Air Force.
Lt Col Bone was commissioned through the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1999. He has spent the majority of his intelligence career in Air Force Special Operations Command and US Special Operations Command assignments. He has deployed twice in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and Operation INHERENT RESOLVE. Prior to his current assignment, he served as Chief of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Operations for HQ Special Operations Command Central at MacDill AFB, Florida. In this position, he was responsible for management and coordination of Special Operations ISR aircraft in the CENTCOM theater of operations.
